Race day: Kids Adventure Games!

What an amazing day! The Kids Adventure Games came to Stowe, Vt this weekend and put on a truly awesome event at Trapp Family Lodge. From zip lining through the forest, to careening down a giant slip n’ slide, the race course was full of fun and challenging features that allowed the kids to experience the thrill of adventure racing. From pre-race jitters all the way to the satisfaction of crossing the finish line, there was a spirit of camaraderie, teamwork, and excitement among the kids. They pushed themselves hard and the sense of pride and accomplishment at the finish line was palpable.

The actual course is kept top secret until the morning of the race and varies from location to location. I really can’t imagine a better venue than Trapp Family Lodge. The course took advantage of Trapp’s gorgeous terrain with single track mountain biking, a water crossing over deer pond, zip lining through the forest, and a dash up to the stone chapel to “ring the bell,” among many other features. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words– and in this case it’s definitely true– so here are a few I managed to snap dashing around the course after the boys.

There are upcoming events in Big Sky and Sun Valley and my fingers are crossed the Kids Adventure Games will be back in Vermont next summer!
